Location

Cochs Pensjonat is located right in the middle of Oslo. The Royal Palace is 350 meters from the door, and Karl Johans Gate shopping street is a 10-minute walk away.

The surrounding streets have plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The famous restaurant Lorry is located right across the street.

Next door is The House of Literature (Litteraturhuset), with a pleasant café and exciting event calendar. A few meters away is the classic restaurant Park 29, housed in Oslo's oldest wooden villa built in 1847.

Bogstadveien is Norway’s biggest, longest and best shopping street, reaching from right outside our entrance and all the way up to Majorstuen.

Majorstuen is a quick tram ride away, and from there it’s a short walk to get to the famous Vigelandsparken.

The nearest tram stop is Welhavens gate. From here the tram goes up towards Majorstua or down towards the city.

We are proud of our neighborhood, and are always happy to give advice for those who wish to explore the area.

Facilities

We have 200 beds spread across 90 rooms. Most of the rooms have a TV, kitchenette and a private bathroom, but we also offer more modest rooms with shared bathrooms in the hallway.

Wi-Fi is free to all our guests. Every hotel room has wooden floors and is allergy friendly.

Our conference room is light and spacious and has room for up to 40 people. The room is suitable for both large and smaller events.

Reception


A TV-lounge is located in the same wing as the conference room, and here we have a sofa, a workbench and a piano. A vending machine with coffee is available in the corridor. Next to it is a microwave oven.  

The reception is open 24 hours, and here we lend kitchen supplies, hairdryers, iron and ironing board and a lot more, just ask! We are always happy to answer your questions or assist in other ways.

From Oslo Bus Terminal

Tram number 18 towards RIkshospitalet. Get off at Dalsbergstien. Walk downhill and take to the right into Parkveien. Follow on until you get to Parkveien 25 at the first light crossing. It’s a 3 minute walk.

From Oslo S - Oslo Central Station

Tram number 17 or 18 from platform F towards RIkshospitalet. Get off at Dalsbergstien. Walk downhill and take to the right into Parkveien. Follow on until you get to Parkveien 25 at the first light crossing. It’s a 3 minute walk.

You can also take tram number 11 (direction Majorstua) to Welhavens gate. The stop is closer, but the tram has elevated floors and stairs, causing trouble for wheelchairs and big luggage.

Or:

Take the metro direction west (all lines). Get off at Nationaltheatret. Walk up towards the Royal Palace and take to the right. Cochs Pensjonat lies at the corner of the park. It’s a 10 minute walk.

From OSL / Oslo Airport Gardermoen

Take the airport bus to its last stop: “Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel”. From there it’s a 5 minute walk upwards along the Royal Park. At the corner of the park you will find Cochs Pensjonat with the address Parkveien 25.

Take the local train or the airport express shuttle train to “Nationaltheateret”. From the train platform you choose the exit towards Parkveien / Henrik Ibsens gate / Drammensveien. Outside you take the first right into Parkveien and follow it to number 25. It takes about 10 minutes to walk.

Parking

There is no parking for cars that is connected to our hotel, but we have parking for motorbikes in our backyard.  

Following is the four main alternatives for parking:

Alternative 1: The nearest parking
The nearest parking lot is in Parkveien 27-31. This is an outdoors parking lot which costs approximately NOK 500 per 24 hours. Driveway next to Jan Thomas Studio or Espresso House. Remember to pay with the Easy Park app or on the machine. The EasyPark app will add 15% to the price.

Alternative 2: Bogstadveien parking garage
We also recommend parking at Onepark in Bogstadveien 1. This is a 24-hour parking garage located a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The price is NOK 390 when using the hotel discount, and includes free charging for electric vehicles. Register here to access the discount (Unfortunately the site is currently only in Norwegian).

Alternative 3: Dalsbergstien parking garage
There is also a parking garage at Dalsbergstien 19, which is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The price is approximately NOK 245 per day. Please note that the parking garage is closed at night. Opening hours are Monday-Friday 7-22, Saturday 7-20 and Sundays closed. It is not possible to enter outside of the opening hours. Drive-in at Coop Mega.

Alternative 4: Street parking
There is also municipal street parking in the area. The pay stations accept most credit cards as well as Norwegian coins. Please note that there might be some distance between the pay stations. To avoid walking we recommend that you use the app Bil i Oslo (Car in Oslo) to pay for parking. Download here (you can choose English text in the app):

Breakfast

We recommend having breakfast at Kaffebrenneriet or Espresso House. Both cafes are located on the street level of the building and have good breakfast offers.

Where is the hotel located?

Our address is Parkveien 25, 0350 Oslo.

We are located on the corner of Slottsparken, at the intersection between Parkveien and Hegdehaugsveien.

What is a Pensjonat?

Cochs Pensjonat is really a hotel. The name has its roots from the old days, at the time when guests received what is called "full pension". This involved, among other things, serving several meals a day and washing of clothes. In recent years, we have switched to a simpler hotel operation, but we have kept the name.

Is room cleaning included?

Room cleaning and changing of towels during the stay is done four days a week: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Feel free to contact the reception if you need extra housekeeping services.

Do you have free internet?

Yes. We have an open network that works throughout the hotel. Login password can be found at the reception.

Do you have cots for children?

Yes, a cot suitable for children up to three years old is free of charge. Feel free to let us know in advance if you want this.

Otherwise, children up to the age of 12 can sleep in the same bed as parents at no extra cost, if desired.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, dogs are allowed in some of the rooms, with an extra cost of NOK 280 per stay. Please let us know in advance so we can see if the rooms are available for the time you want to book.

Other pet animals are not allowed.

Guide dogs and other assistance animals are of course welcome in all of our rooms.

Are there desks in the rooms?

Some rooms have desks, others have lower coffee tables. Regardless, we can always put a desk in the room when needed.

Do you have motorcycle parking?

Yes, it is possible to park a motorcycle in our backyard.

How do I get to the hotel by public transport?

Welhavens gate is the nearest tram stop. With a tram from Majorstuen, Homansbyen is the best tram stop to get off at.
