From Cochs to Majorstuen
Oslo’s best shopping street is called Bogstadveien and runs from Cochs Pensjonat (Slottsparken) to Majorstuen. The magazine IN Bogstadveien says “To claim that Bogstadveien has everything is far from an exaggeration!”  Here you can find sensible and practical items if that’s what you’re after, or maybe you will indulge in pure extravagance like a classy pair of trousers or some brilliant stereo equipment. Whatever – Bogstadveien has everything for shop-till-you drop ladies in their twenties or for their partners who are more interested in cars, angle-grinders and various bits and pieces. Fashionable and fit fifty-year-olds who do yoga and drink caffe latte, and youngsters with or without baggy jeans, will all find music, clothes and cafés here. There are even gyms – if you can be bothered ……

Something for everyone

A word of advice - go off by yourself! Bogstadveien welcomes every lost soul with open arms. The street caters for all those who appreciate the pleasures of life, so enjoy the buzz of activity in Oslo’s best shopping area.

Nearby is Slottsparken – the park surrounding the Royal Palace. Just the place for those who want to wander around in grassy areas among imposing trees and small waterways, watching birds and people. Pubs and restaurants to cater for the hungry and thirsty are everywhere. You will also find Seven-Eleven kiosks, and several places for dancing that stay open quite late – at least at the weekends.
